Danica Thornberry, L.AcWith all the different ways heat can accumulate in our system (diet, emotions, lifestyle, rising temperatures outside), it's good to be aware of a safe, quick and effective natural remedy.

Dandelion is a simple garden variety weed we all recognize. Yet who knew it had so many uses?

Dandelion clears toxins from the liver. Therefore we recommend it for all sorts of inflammatory or toxic conditions (anything that presents as red, hot, itchy or painful).

Whether taken in capsule form or incorporated into a tea or infusion, this slightly bitter tasting herb can quell rashes, soothe itchy red eyes, clear mastitis infection, and calm irritability. Taken internally, it resolves viral symptoms and helps the liver function more optimally.

We recommend keeping dandelion tea bags on hand to make easy compresses, while the tea itself makes a great detoxifying wash that will clear heat and redness from the skin. It is safe enough to use on babies and children.
